About the event

Sunday Open Streets at Rittenhouse Square

with Friends of Rittenhouse Square,  Historic Rittenhouse Town and Common Press

Step into history on the last Sunday in September with Friends of Rittenhouse Square, Historic Rittenhouse Town, and Common Press. Join us during Open Streets in September for a demonstration of traditional paper-making, and an opportunity to meet and learn traditional surveying from the namesake behind the Square, David Rittenhouse.

During the event, we will be collecting cotton and linen rags as part of Common Press' Typography of Independence project, celebrating the paper-making and printing techniques that created the first edition of the Declaration of Independence.

We hope to see you there!
